Jesus said: "I myself am the living bread come down from heaven. If anyone eats this bread he shall live forever; the bread I will give is my flesh for the life of the world." John 6:51
The Eucharist, the greatest of the sacraments, is described in Cannon Law (Can. 899) in this way:
The eucharistic celebration is the action of Christ himself and the Church. In it, Christ the Lord, through the ministry of the priest, offers himself, substantially present under the species of bread and wine, to God the Father and gives himself as spiritual food to the faithful united with his offering.
In the eucharistic gathering the people of God are called together with the bishop or, under his authority, a presbyter presiding and acting in the person of Christ. All the faithful who are present, whether clerics or laity, unite together by participating in their own way according to the diversity of orders and liturgical functions.

SAB Parish has switched over to a family-based approach to lifelong faith formation! In addition, the Diocese of New Hampshire is implementing "Restored Order." What does this mean? In brief, it means our Sacramental Prep is now a 2-year parent-let program. Year 1 culminates with the Sacrament of Reconciliation (normally to be received at the end of your child's second grade year), and year 2 culminates with the reception of Confirmation and First Holy Communion in the same Mass (normally to be received at the end of your child's third grade year). Adults interested in participating in full communion with the Catholic Church are invited to participate in the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults. Contact Seth Evangelho, our Director of Adult Faith Formation at 603-524-9609 x 27 or [email protected]. Read more about Faith Formation for children and adults under the Faith Formation tab above.
